The Vista Village Business Association announces their 21st annual Vista Rod Run and 2nd annual Smokin' Q Classic sanctioned by the Kansas City barbeque Society. The BBQ Competition will begin on Friday, July 30, 2010 with a free concert from 6 - 8 pm. Tasting, judging and awards start on Saturday, July 31, 2010 from 11 am - 5:00 pm. The public will also have an opportunity to participate in the "Taste of Barbeque" to sample the championship recipies starting at noon.

On Sunday, August 1st from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. you can experience one of the largest car shows in San Diego North County area as well as one of Vista's biggest community events. Car lovers will be drooling over more than 300 of the finest hot rods around.

This year a portion of the proceeds will benefit North County Solutions for Change.
 
Prizes will be awarded for Best of Show, Best Upholstery, Best Paint, Best Graphics, Mayor’s Choice, People’s Choice, Longest Distance, Club Participation, Best Woodie, Best Custom Motorcycle and others.

Live Entertainment this year will be Those Guys === > From classic rock to contemporary repertoire, Those Guys is great entertainment. Located in Huntington Beach, they perform throughout San Diego, Orange County and Los Angeles. Those Guys consists of experienced musicians, taken from the heart of the local music scene. What is Rod Run?

The Vista Rod Run has been an annual event in the City of Vista for 20 years. It's main goal is to attract people to the revitalized downtown area and to provide funds for a local charity, which rotates on a yearly basis. This years charity is Girl's Incorporated. Rod Run has live bands and there are numerous restaurants located downtown.
